1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the PDF Reader mobile application for Android (“the App”) and this website, both published by Elixir Infotech (“we”, “us”, “our”). Please read them carefully; they form a binding agreement between you and Elixir Infotech.

The App is a document utility: a PDF viewer, editor, scanner and offline converter. It is not a document-storage service, a legal service or a certification authority.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, opening or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App, and uninstall it if you already have.

Your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service and any rules Google applies to applications distributed through its store.

3. Use of the Application

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Android devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business purposes.

You agree that you will not:

• Copy, modify, translate, adapt or create derivative works of the App, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, or attempt to derive its source code, except as permitted by law
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, distribute or otherwise commercially exploit the App
• Remove, obscure or alter any proprietary notice, branding or attribution
• Use the App to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or process material you are not entitled to process
• Interfere with the App’s operation, security or integrity, or with the services it relies on
• Attempt to generate artificial advertising impressions or clicks, or otherwise manipulate advertising revenue
• Use automated means to access, scrape or overload the App or its supporting services

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age at which you can consent to the processing of personal data in your country if that age is higher, to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

You must also have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and must not be barred from using the App under the laws of your country.

5. PDF Documents and User Content

“User Content” means any PDF, image, Word document, scan, annotation, signature, text or other material you open, import, create, edit or save with the App.

You represent and warrant that, for all User Content you process with the App:

• You own it, or you have every right, licence and permission needed to use it in the way you do
• Processing it does not infringe copyright, trade-mark, privacy, confidentiality or any other right
• You are entitled to remove password protection from any document you unlock, and you hold that document’s password lawfully
• It does not contain material that is unlawful in your jurisdiction

Because your files never reach us, we cannot recover them. Keeping your own backups is entirely your responsibility, and we strongly recommend making one before running any operation that modifies or replaces a document.

6. User Responsibilities

• Backups. Keep your own copies of important documents. Editing, merging, splitting, compressing, encrypting and converting all produce or alter files, and mistakes cannot be undone by us.
• Passwords. You are responsible for the passwords you set on documents. We do not hold them, cannot recover them, and cannot open a document whose password has been lost.
• Verification. Check converted, compressed or edited output before you rely on it. Conversion between document formats is approximate by nature.
• Device security. Keep your device locked, updated and free of malware. Anyone with access to your unlocked device has access to your documents.
• Lawful use. Use the App only for content and purposes that are lawful where you are.

7. Intellectual Property

The App — including its source code, design, user interface, brand mark, the “PDF Reader” name as used for this product, graphics, icons, text and documentation — is owned by Elixir Infotech and its licensors, and is protected by copyright, trade-mark and other intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a licence to use the App; they do not transfer any ownership to you.

The App incorporates third-party open-source components, each licensed by its own author under its own terms; those terms continue to apply to those components. “Android”, “Google Play”, “Google”, “AdMob” and “Firebase” are trade marks of Google LLC and are used here only to identify those services.

Nothing in these Terms grants you rights in the documents you process — those rights are governed by section 5.

8. Application Features

The App provides, among other things:

• A PDF viewer with in-document search, table of contents, page thumbnails, bookmarks, night mode and full-screen reading
• An editor for text, freehand ink, highlighting, shapes, notes, stamps, images and signatures
• A camera-based document scanner with edge detection, perspective correction and image filters
• Page organisation: merge, split, extract, reorder, rotate, delete and compress
• Password protection: locking a PDF, and unlocking one for which you supply the correct password
• Offline conversion: Word to PDF, PDF to Word, image to PDF, PDF to image, and PDF to text via on-device OCR
• A library of the PDF files on your device, with recents, favourites and search by file name
• A localised interface in twelve languages, with right-to-left support

Features depend on your device, its Android version, the permissions you grant and the characteristics of the document you are working with. Some PDFs — for example those using unusual fonts, embedded media, digital signatures, complex scripts or damaged structures — may not render, convert or edit perfectly. Conversion, compression and OCR are best-effort operations and results vary with the source file.

The unlock feature is not a bypass. It requires the correct password and is intended solely for documents you are entitled to open.

9. Third-Party Services

The App integrates services operated by Google LLC: Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Remote Config, Firebase Cloud Messaging and Google Play services (including in-app updates). Your use of those services is also governed by Google’s own terms and privacy policy.

We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, content, accuracy or practices. The App may also open links to third-party websites or hand a file to another app you choose through Android’s share sheet; once a file leaves the App in that way, it is governed by the receiving app’s terms, not ours.

10. Advertising

The App is free and supported by advertising. You will see ads while using it. Ad formats may include banner, native, interstitial, app-open, rewarded and rewarded-interstitial ads.

Whether advertising is shown, and which formats appear, is controlled remotely through Firebase Remote Config. A master switch determines whether the advertising layer starts at all — when it is off, no advertising SDK is initialised and no ad is requested. Individual formats can be disabled independently. If the App cannot reach Remote Config, it applies its built-in default, in which advertising is enabled.

The App offers a temporary ad-free period: after watching a small number of rewarded video ads, advertising is suppressed for 24 hours. This is free and repeatable. It is not a purchase, not a subscription and not a permanent removal of ads, and the remaining time is stored on your device only. The App contains no in-app purchases, and we make no claim that it is ad-free.

Advertising content comes from Google and its advertisers, not from us. We do not endorse advertised products and are not responsible for them. Attempting to generate invalid impressions or clicks is a breach of these Terms.

11. Google AdMob

Advertising is delivered by Google AdMob. To serve, measure and limit ads — and to detect invalid traffic — Google may process your device’s advertising identifier, your IP address and your interactions with the ads shown. Google acts as an independent controller for that processing.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Where your region requires it, Google’s consent mechanisms determine whether personalised advertising may be used. 12. Google Play Services

The App is distributed through Google Play and uses Google Play services, including the in-app update mechanism that offers you a newer version when one is available. Installation, updates, refunds (where applicable) and store availability are handled by Google under its own terms. Google is not a party to these Terms, and we are not responsible for the operation of the Google Play store itself.

13. Analytics

The App uses Firebase Analytics to record anonymous, aggregated usage events — screens viewed, tools used, whether an operation succeeded, and non-identifying detail such as a document’s size in kilobytes and its page count. This tells us which features matter and where they fail.

Analytics never receives your documents, their contents, their text or their file names. Full detail is in section 8 of the Privacy Policy.

14. Crash Reporting

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to report crashes and handled errors so that faults can be diagnosed and fixed. A report contains the stack trace plus diagnostic context: app version, Android version, device model, the screen in use, the selected theme and language, and — where a document was open — its page count and byte size. Crash reports never contain document contents, file names or passwords. See section 9 of the Privacy Policy.

15. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what the App collects, why, and the choices you have. It forms part of these Terms. In summary: your documents are processed on your device and never reach us; no account is required; and the information that is collected relates to advertising, analytics, diagnostics, configuration and notifications.

16. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the App and the limited data it transmits: connections to Google services are encrypted, cleartext HTTP traffic is disabled, PDF passwords you ask the App to remember are stored in Android’s Keystore-backed encrypted storage, and the App requests only the permissions its features need.

Because your documents remain on your device, their security ultimately depends on the security of that device, which is under your control. No software or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

17. Availability of the Service

The App’s document features are designed to work offline and do not depend on our servers. Features that do use the internet — advertising, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, notifications and update checks — depend on third-party services that may be unavailable, delayed or withdrawn.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may suspend, limit or discontinue the App, this website or any feature at any time, with or without notice.

18. Disclaimer

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will meet your requirements or be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free
• Every PDF will render, convert, compress or edit exactly as you expect
• Converted output will preserve the layout, fonts, formatting or content of the source file exactly
• OCR text recognition or automatic edge detection will be accurate for every document
• Compression will reach any particular file size, or preserve any particular image quality
• Files will not be lost or damaged by device failure, storage problems or an interrupted operation

Nothing in the App constitutes legal, financial, medical or professional advice, and the App does not produce legally certified or digitally certified signatures. A drawn signature added with the App is a visual mark on a document; whether it is legally binding depends on the law that applies to that document, which is for you to determine.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Elixir Infotech and its directors, employees and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data or documents, arising out of or connected with your use of, or inability to use, the App — whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

This expressly includes loss of, damage to, or corruption of any document arising from editing, merging, splitting, compressing, converting, encrypting, decrypting or saving with the App, and any loss caused by a forgotten PDF password.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim — which, for a free application, is zero — and (b) the minimum amount permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

20. Changes to the Application

We are continually improving the App. We may add, change, suspend or remove features, alter how a feature works, change advertising behaviour, or stop supporting particular Android versions or devices, at any time and without individual notice. Updates are distributed through Google Play and may be required for the App to keep functioning correctly.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to highlight them in the App or on this website. Continuing to use the App after the changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the App and uninstall it.

22. Termination

You may terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App.

We may suspend or terminate your licence to use the App immediately, and without notice, if you breach these Terms, misuse the App, attempt to manipulate advertising, or use the App unlawfully. We may also discontinue the App entirely.

On termination, your licence ends and you must stop using and uninstall the App. Files you created remain in your own storage. Sections 5, 7, 18, 19, 23 and any other provision that by its nature should survive will survive termination.

23. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Rajkot, Gujarat shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the App.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country in which you live, nor of the right to bring proceedings in your local courts where that right cannot be excluded.

Before starting formal proceedings, we ask that you contact us so we can try to resolve the matter informally.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the App.
